Dave Kerner

Dave Kerner is the executive director of the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. Active in his community, he was previously elected as a member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing District 87, and as a Palm Beach County Mayor and Commissioner. 

Kerner began his career as a law enforcement officer in 2005 and was named Police Officer of the Year by the City of Alachua Police Department. He served as a Fraternal Order of Police Union Representative and field training officer. He later served as a special prosecutor.  

Kerner attended Palm Beach State College and earned a bachelor’s degree and juris doctor degree from the University of Florida.
