Study Abroad in Belize

Palm Beach State College's 2026 Belize program offers students a rich, immersive study abroad experience. It blends cultural exploration, academic learning, environmental education, and fostering global awareness and personal growth in a vibrant Central American setting. Students will engage directly with local communities, wildlife and ecosystems for hands-on learning.

Travel Dates: March 7-14, 2026 (8 days)

Cost:
$3,890 (15-24 students). There is an optional single room upgrade. Cost varies.

Associated Courses: Students must enroll in the required 1-credit course, GEA 2952: Globalization – Study Abroad Experience, to participate in the study abroad program. In addition, students may choose to enroll in one of the associated course(s) taught by a Program Contact listed above to earn additional credit:

  • OCE1001 Introduction to Oceanography
  • PSY2012 Introduction to Psychology 

Itinerary

Belmopan

  • Canoe the Sibun River
  • Hike through a Belizean rainforest

Punta Gorda

  • Be a Belizean Ranger for the day
  • Take Garifuna drumming lessons

Placencia

  • Snorkel in the Cayes
  • Visit the Maya archaeological site of Nim Li Punit

Belize City

  • Visit a Maya village
  • Swim in St. Herman's Blue Hole National Park
